The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says Curtis Brickle, 29 of 302 West Church Street, Iva, turned himself in Friday afternoon amid allegations he threatened violence against his wife.
Deputies charged Brickle with Unlawful Communication.
According to the incident report, Brickle's estranged wife notified authorities he left a threatening message on her voicemail and a deputy listened to a recording of a male cursing and making threats to do bodily harm to the woman.
A spokesman for the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said they started an investigation on Sept. 8.
On that day, News Channel 7 contacted the Iva Police Chief who confirmed Brickle was an officer and was still on duty, pending the outcome of the Sheriff’s Office investigation.
