Asheville Police are searching for a man who they say shot and killed a man at a bar.
Lieutenant Wallace Welch of the Asheville Police Department said that officers responded to a shooting at the Hole In Da Wall bar on South Market Street at 2:19 Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found 32-year old Anthony Byron Carter, of Asheville, outside the bar dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.
After interviews that extended throughout the night and during the day, Welch said that investigators determined that Carter was shot inside the bar during an argument with 36-year old Devon Armond Gayles. Carter made it to the outside where he collapsed, according to an incident report.
Gayles has been charged with second-degree murder. He is considered armed and dangerous, Welch said.
If anyone has any information regarding Gayles whereabouts, they are urged to call 9-1-1 or Asheville Police.
