Seven people have been arrested and charged in connection with a string of break-in's in Henderson and Buncombe counties.
Captain Jerry Rice of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said that the arrests come after an extensive investigation into multiple daytime break-in's at home throughout the counties.
Rice said that deputies arrested 29-year old Brandon Douglas Williams, of Asheville; 22-year old Nicholas Chase Jackson, 22-year old Taylor Lee Jackson, 23-year old Christian Bell Whiteside and 22-year old Bryan Alexander Lamb, all of Hendersonville, on November 30 and charged them with multiple residential break-in's in Henderson County.
On December 20, Rice said that deputies arrested 34-year old John Phillip Ledford, of Asheville, at his home and charged him with break-in's in Henderson and Buncombe counties. Ledford is currently being held at the Buncombe County Jail, but upon release he will be sent to Henderson County to face multiple charges of breaking and entering and larceny.
One day later, deputies arrested Ricky Dewayne Ward, 34, of Etowah, and charged him with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of larceny tools. Ward also had an outstanding warrant out for failure to pay child support. He is currently being held at the Henderson County Detention Center on 21,000 bond.
During the course of the investigation, Henderson County Sheriff's detectives recovered 49 stolen firearms, Rice said. He said the investigation is on-going and further charges are expected.
