Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina has announced an encore to its popular “Mud Run” fundraiser: The “Goodwill Mud Run” will take place on Saturday, October 1st at SC-TAC (formerly the Donaldson Center) in Greenville. Registration for the event will open on Saturday, June 4th and is expected to fill quickly.
The cost to participate in the October Mud Run will remain $120 for a four-person team. The popular “Kid’s Zone” - a mud run course designed for children 4 and up that includes climbing walls, low crawls, rope swings, and lots of water and mud – will also be available for nominal fee at the October 1st event. Funds raised from the Goodwill Mud Run will be used to help Goodwill accomplish their mission of assisting people with disabilities and barriers to employment become independent citizens through education, training, and career placement services. In 2010, Goodwill assisted 28,939 people in their quest for independence and created a potential economic impact of over $71 million through the wages of the 5,340 people placed into employment. Additional proceeds from this event go towards supporting the programs and services of the Marine Corps 4th Reserve Battalion of Greenville, SC.
