Laurens Police have charged Thomas Lynch after an early morning chase that ended with several law officer’s cars damaged.
Lynch is charged with DUI, failure to stop and failure to show proof of insurance.
Lynch was spotted driving out of some woods on an ATV near East Farley Avenue. Police chief Robin Morse says his officers observed Lynch was “all over the road.”
Police tried to stop him which led to the chase.

Two Laurens County Sheriff's Office patrol cars were damaged after a chase resulting in a crash Wednesday morning. Lt. Judy Stiles says the chase that started in the city of Laurens ended at Lisbon Road at Easy Road off Highway 221.
Investigators say Thomas Lynch was driving a Rhino (ATV type vehicle) when one Laurens city police car and one county sheriff’s office vehicle tried to block him in and Lynch put the vehicle in reverse hitting to sheriff’s office cars.
Stiles says the accident caused $6,000 in damage. The sheriff’s office has charged Lynch with malicious injury to property greater than $1,000.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
