The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault on a woman Wednesday night.
Master Deputy Craig Bradley says that the Sheriff's Office is investigating the assault of a woman, who was pulled over by someone impersonating a police officer.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. on Nazareth Road. Bradley says that the woman was pulled over by a heavy set male driving a mid-size SUV with interior blue lights.
The victim flagged down a passerby who contacted officials.
7 On Your Side will continue to bring you the latest details as they become available.
If you have any information that may help investigators in this case, you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
Greenville County officials were investigating a similar case that happened in December 2010. But deputies told 7 On Your Side Thursday the case has been dropped because the woman involved gave conflicting stories to officials and chose not to prosecute.
Officials remind you to use caution when an unmarked vehicle tries to pull you over.
Deputies encourage you to call 911 and make sure that the vehicle pulling you over is an actual authority.
If you don't have a cell phone, drive slowly to a safe area that is well lit, preferably with people around before stopping.
