Five people were injured in a wreck Thursday afternoon.
The wreck happened at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 418 at Scuffletown Road in Fountain Inn.
According to Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth of the South Carolina Highway Patrol the 16 year old driver of a 1998 Honda sedan was driving west on Highway 418 when drove left of center and sideswiped a 1992 Ford SUV. The Honda then struck a 1999 Nissan sedan head-on.
The 16 year old unidentified driver and two teenage passengers in the car were airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Nissan sedan also had to be airlifted to Greenville Memorial while a 15 year old passenger was transported to the hopspital by ambulance. Four people inside the SUV were not injured.
The 16 year old driver, whose identity was not revealed due to his age, was cited with reckless driving. There was no immediate word on the conditions of the victims.
