Southbound Interstate 85 traffic continues to move slowly Wednesday morning following a deadly accident in Greenville County.

The Greenville County Deputy Coroner says a man was hit while walking on the interstate around the 51 mile marker. That’s close to the interchange with I-385 and Woodruff Road.

The driver of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner wasn’t injured when he struck the man. We're told two vehicles were involved by the Highway Patrol, but they haven't released any specifics.

The coroner’s office has been unable to identify the victim, but say he was a man in his mid 40s who was wearing dark clothing.

Investigators will try to identify the man through fingerprints.

At 10:45 a.m. there was still one lane closed to traffic on southbound I-85 at the scene. Traffic was backed up for at least five miles to the entrance of GSP International Airport.
