A man who authorities say led Anderson County deputies on a chase before crashing Monday has been caught.
Anderson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Chad McBride said that 26-year old Jamie Marchbanks was arrested Tuesday night at the Camelot Inn in Greenville. McBride said that Marchbank's arrest was the result of cooperation between the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Greenville County Sheriff's Office, Pickens County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshal's Service.
On Monday, McBride said that a Anderson County Sheriff's deputy was driving on East Church Road in Easley when a truck pulled out in front of the patrol car almost causing a wreck. When the deputy tried to pull over the truck, the driver, identified as Marchbanks, drove away leading authorities on a short chase. The driver crashed into some trees on East Church Road near Ridge Road and ran.
After searching for the suspect, 26-year old Jamie Marchbanks, for several hours, the search was called off.
Marchbanks is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
