Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who they say stole a cash register drawer from a store.
Deputies say a man went into the Lil Cricket at 1228 Boiling Springs Road around 12:40 a.m.
A store employee says the man bought a pack of chewing gum for 35 cents. The man then went and got a second pack of gum.
When the employee opened the register, the man jumped over the counter and grabbed the cash drawer and ran out the door.
He was last seen running in the direction of California Avenue.
The man was described as being six feet tall, weighing about 220 pounds. He was wearing a garnet hat with a University of South Carolina emblem, a black t-shirt with a USC emblem and garnet colored sweat pants.
Deputies tried to search the area with a K9, but couldn’t find the suspect. The store employee indicated the incident was captured on video.
