The city of Spartanburg is conducting an audit of the CC Woodson Community Center following the arrest of the center's director.
On Monday, Public Safety officers charged Olivia Sartor, 48, with larceny and financial transaction card fraud. According to an incident report, on February 2nd Sartor stole a pocketbook from a customer's purse at the eastside Goodwill. Sartor is now out of jail on bond. She has not returned calls seeking comment.
A spokesperson for the city of Spartanburg says the city is auditing financial records at CC Woodson Center.
"We have no reason to believe anything inappropriate took place with money coming into the center, but we want to make sure everything is accounted for," says Will Rothschild. "It's standard procedure for us anytime something like this takes place."
CC Woodson offers numerous programs, from Zumba to aerobics classes, for which community members pay a fee to attend. Many people also pay a monthly fee to use the center's gym.
Sartor has no criminal history in South Carolina. She is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. She has worked for the city for 17 years.
