Greenville County schools says the lockdown at Riverside High, Riverside Middle, Buena Vista Elementary, and Woodland Elementary has been lifted.
The Greer Police Department says they responded to an alarm call in the Hammett Farms neighborhood on Hayfield Rd.
They say officers saw a man running into the woods when they arrived and that man lost his shoes.
A dog tracking team is now searching for a man in a white fleece and bare feet.
It's unsure at this time if the suspect has been caught or if the search has been suspended.
