A man is dead after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car in the city of Anderson.
The wreck happened Thursday night around 8 p.m. on Marchbanks Avenue.
Lieutenant Tony Tilley of the Anderson Police Department said the man was on a bicycle when he was struck by a car.
The Anderson County Coroner has identified the victim as 52-year-old David William Welty. He died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
Investigators say he was wearing dark clothing and the driver did not see him.
Welty was coming from the Dollar General, just four blocks from his home.
