A man was seriously injured after a tree fell on him Friday afternoon.
The incident happened on Burnt Tanyard Road in Salem. Scott Kern with Oconee Emergency Management said that the Salem Fire and Rescue squad had responded to the site and the man had managed to get out from under the tree.
The unidentified man was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital where his condition remains unknown. Kern said the man had multiple trauma injuries when he was airlifted.

According to a release, the Climate Prediction Center says there’s a 70 percent chance of nine to 15 named storms during the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane season.
Vandalism forced the city of Hendersonville to drain Patton Pool days before its scheduled opening. Firefighters were on scene Wednesday, using hoses and hydrants to refill the 500,000 gallon pool.
