Anderson Police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2012.
Lieutenant Tony Tilley of the Anderson City Police Department said that officers arrived to Hampton Street, near the corner of Kennedy Street, around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night. Tilley said that officers discovered a black male in the middle of the street suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Tilley said that investigators have learned that a witness saw a car speed away from the area after hearing gunshots. Tilley said that investigators are attempting to get a description of the vehicle. They have not named any suspects in the case.
Officials have identified the teen victim as 19-year-old Redmond Donald of Anderson.
