Just three more days until the Republican primary and the candidates are squaring off to get some last minute votes. Wednesday night 3 of the Republican Presidential hopefuls were at the Hilton in Greenville answering questions from the pro-life organization Personhood. Ron Paul joined the discussion by satellite since he was in Washington D.C. It was clear from the beginning Wednesday night's forum centered on a pro life agenda.
Four of the candidates vying for the republican nomination have all signed a pro-life pledge written by Personhood saying they want to ban abortions.
"In my state we passed legislation that protects the child in the womb from certain acts," Republican Presidential Candidate, Rick Perry said.
"We are fully human upon conception because all of the genetic patterns are in existance at that moment and therefore the rights should attach at that moment," Republican Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich said.
"We need to make sure we have someone who is not just pro life but unabashedly a fighter for pro life," Republican President Candidate Rick Santorum said.
The only one with a slightly different view on the issue is Ron Paul who says it should be a state not a Federal issue to define when life begins.
"I want to protect the right of the states to make these definitions," Republican Presidential Candidate, Ron Paul said.
Where all four candidates agree is there stance on federal funding of Planned Parenthood.
"You know my history. You know my historical position on parental consent, sonograms, and de-funding Planned Parenthood," Perry said.
"Planned parenthood has gone from a totally good thing 30 years ago which no one talked about to an organization of enormous controversy the largest abortion provider in the United States," Gingrich said.
"I will not sign any appropriation bill that has any funding for Planned Parenthood or anyone who sees the world in the way they do," Santorum said.
"One of the very first things I would do is to stop all the funding," Paul said.
Personhood, the organization that hosted the forum, says Mitt Romney was invited to the event but said he had a schedule conflict and could not attend.
