A woman is under arrest in Henderson County after sheriff’s deputies say she shot her husband. Jessica Leigh Burleson is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called to a home on Mt. Olivet Road in Zirconia at 3:17 a.m. after Anthony Patrick Burleson called 911 to report he had been shot by his wife. Burleson was found with a gunshot wound in the lower back from a small caliber handgun. Burleson was transported by air ambulance to Memorial Mission Hospital. The Violent Crimes unit determined Burleson’s wife, Jessica Leigh Burleson, shot him during a domestic dispute between the two. Jessica Leigh Burleson is being held in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $75,000 bond. Her first scheduled court appearance is Monday.
