Members of the Cherokee County School Board picked a member of the school's district administration to replace the outgoing Superintendent.
At a meeting Wednesday night, school board members voted in favor of naming Dr. Carlotta Redish to the Superintendent's position effective February 1. Redish will replace Dr. Edgar Taylor, who resigned effective January 31, on an interim basis.
Redish is currently the school district's Associate Superintendent for Administrative Services and Instruction. her appointment comes amid the school district's search for a permanent replacement for the position.
They have already started interviewing prospective candidates and announcement is expected to be made soon.
