Deputies: Trespasser Shot and Killed In Travelers Rest

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Thursday 10:41 a.m. Update

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting death Wednesday night at a home in Travelers Rest.

Deputy Coroner Tony Segars says 26-year-old James Brock of Greer
died from a gunshot wound to the back at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A 911 call was received around 9:30 p.m. from a home at 14 Terrace Road.

Deputies found the victim face down in the yard when they arrive. A woman was kneeling next to him with a white cloth on his lower back.

Investigators were told that Brock arrived at the home around 9:00 p.m. and began to argue with a woman.

The woman went inside the home and a man who was at that residence came out and approached the victim when another altercation happened.

One shot was fired.

GCSO investigators later learned that the victim was placed on trespass notice after a disturbance that occurred at the home in December of 2008.

Deputies say the woman who was there Wednesday night was not the same who placed the man on a trespass notice.

An autopsy is scheduled for today as the investigation continues.
