Party Leads Police To Arrest Two Men On Drug Charges

A noise complaint led to the arrest of two men for drug possession.

Just after midnight Thursday, city of Asheville Police officers responded to a complaint about a loud party at a residence on New Haw Creek Road in east Asheville. After arriving and contacting the occupant of the residence, the officer's observed some narcotics and detained the occupant and another person.

After receiving a search warrant, the officer's searched the residence and seized 25.4 grams of marijuana, .4 grams of what is believed to be ecstasy a digital scale, several empty vacuum sealed pound bags located beside a upstairs toilet and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Officers arrested and charged 22-year old John Carter Magee with possession with intent to distribute schedule IV narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. They also arrested 21 year old Richard Berthold Kramer with possession of marijuana.

Magee was being held on $5,000 bond, while Kramer was being held on $500 bond.
