On Saturday the Asheville Police Department responded to a possible assault involving a child at Green Life Grocery located at 70 Merrimon Ave. According to witnesses on the scene, the suspect had been observed inappropriately touching a six year old girl inside the store.
APD Detectives responded and spoke to the victim who made a statement consistent with witness statements.
The suspect was identified as 63- year old Lenn Ray McNabb. A review of the in-store surveillance video showed the inappropriate touching and an interview at Police Headquarters with Mr. McNabb provided a statement from him consistent with prior statements from the victim and witnesses.
Mr. McNabb was charged with Indecent Liberties on a Child and placed under $5000.00 secure bond.
