The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident involving a South Carolina State Trooper.
The incident happened at 4:15 p.m. Monday afternoon at a law enforcement checkpoint at Kirskey Street and New Market Street in the city of Greenwood. 7 On Your Side has learned that the trooper, whose name has yet to be released, was struck by a vehicle driven by 31-year old Travis Harrison, of Greenwood. Details of the incident were not immediately available.
According to Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Harrison was charged with driving under the influence, driving under suspension and having a defective tire. If charges are to be filed in the incident involving the trooper, the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office would file those charges.
