First Green Story Airs Friday Night

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Well, I am pretty excited that my first Go Green/Save Green story airs Friday night. This is a weekly series I will be doing on how to save the environment (Go Green) while saving some cash at the same time (Save Green).

The first piece is about bottled water. It was pretty interesting what I found out when I was researching this story. 50 billion plastic bottles and containers are wasted every year in the nation's landfills. That adds up to a lot of pollution and wasted resources. If people would simply recycle these bottles, we may have a chance to help save the earth. Also, you are spending way too much money if you buy those cases of bottled water from your local stores.

Simply drinking tap water can reduce the amount you spend on the same stuff in a pretty package. 40% of all bottled water actually comes from tap water anyway. Check out this link. It has some good information and you can make a pledge to stop using bottled water.

I hope you enjoy my first Go Green story. By the way, if you missed it on TV, you can click the Lifestyles link on the top of our website. That will take you to the Go Green/ Save Green page. These stories will air every Friday at 5:30 pm on News Channel 7 and also Saturday mornings at 8 am.
