Storm Team 7 Meteorologist Dan Bickford says up to four inches of snow is possible in parts of western North Carolina starting Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Avery, Yancey, and Mitchell counties from 7:00am Tuesday through 7:00am Wednesday.
Areas of the North Carolina mountains that are not in the warning area may also see some snow showers late Monday night and into part of the day Tuesday.
Moisture is increasing out ahead of a cold front that will move through Monday evening. This will mean more clouds with increasing chances for rain.
The best chance of rain for all of us will be late this afternoon into early this evening right along the front itself.
