United Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing

United Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing
» 3 Comments | Post a Comment

A United Airlines jet with 249 passengers and crew on board has made a safe emergency landing in San Francisco.

United Flight 158 was en route from San Francisco to Chicago early today when it developed engine trouble. An airline spokeswoman says one of the engine compressors stalled. The pilot was able to fly the plane back to San Francisco International on one engine, landing about 30 minutes after it took off.

The airline is investigating the source of smoke in the cabin after the plane landed.

Passengers were put up in hotels for the rest of the night and then put on other flights.

I was on this flight with a friend too. United got to fix planes and there customer service. It was horible experience. What do you think when you see engine on fire and smoke in cabin and alarm on? I thought we are all going to die. Thank to pilots thoughtful decision he got us on ground safe. But United airlines did not gave any hotel to any one. They said it loud and clear that they do not have any hotel for anyone. If you like to go home or stay at airport, its your choice. I trully believe that is very unprofessional service from United. I rather drive from now than taking United flights. I cancelled mine and came back home. Twice in a day they put me in a plane and both planes have problems. God Bless the future United flyers.

Who did you talk to when writing this article? It was not the pilot, flight attendants or even the passengers aboard the plane. Let’s break this article down for everyone. First off saying that the airplane ran into engine trouble does not seem realistic to the people who were on the flight. What would you think about if you could see BIG orange flames coming from the plane when you’re in the air?  Death might be on your mind.  There were NO overnight accommodations for the passengers. Do I need to repeat that again? I would like to thank the fight attendants who handed out the pillows and blankets they were all very nice. For the arranged flights that were on Saturday that did not go good either. Flying from San Francisco to Dallas was ok, but the connecting flight to Chicago was CANCELED. At that point you just can’t take any more of it. United did give a $150 voucher to use, but when you never plan to fly with them you don’t need it.  Switching to a Delta flight immediately after that made the remainder of the trip somewhat more secure. I could not believe they gave a voucher because the flight was cancelled, but did nothing when the plane caught on fire. That does not make any since.

My father was one of the passengers on that flight. He commented about how well the flight attendants did there job. He did not however receive a hotel room for the night and either did the people he was flying with. I would like to know which passengers were put up for the night because my father being in the Navy had orders to report back to his home base did not have any effect on the people who worked for United Airlines. The next morning they flew him to Dallas where his connecting flight to Chicago was cancelled. My father and the other people he was traveling switched there flights to Delta. Delta took very good care of them and my father never plans to fly with United Airlines again.
