Ann Ravan: July Caring for the Carolinas Winner

In 2007 Ann Ravan was diagnosed with cancer. Her doctor thought the cancerous tumor had spread to her kidneys. Physicians said that it wasn’t looking good for her. Ann and her family begged God for a miracle. The morning of her surgery, Ann says she was at peace, knowing that the Lord would pull her through. During that surgery doctors were baffled when they discovered that the tumor was benign. Ann’s doctor’s called it luck, but she called it a miracle. Prayers answered by God. She says since God gave her renewed life she wanted to do something that would save others. Ann now volunteers at the Carolina Pregnancy Center in Spartanburg. Each week she helps counsel pregnant young women grappling with tough decisions. Ann says she loves being able to tell these girls about the abundant love of her God. She says her testimony helps them see how God’s miracles do happen. Alexia Newman, Director of the Carolina Pregnancy Center, says the girls are inspired to hear Ann’s story and her testimony. We were happy to honor Ann Ravan with our July Caring for the Carolinas award.
