October Caring for the Carolinas Award: Jerry Day

Jerry Day wins the October Caring for the Carolinas Award. Jerry is a Meals on Wheels volunteer with Washington Baptist Church. Several times a week he delivers meals to Mrs. Eskew’s home. She says he is always willing to sit and pray with her; he doesn’t just stop to bring her the meal. Jerry and the other men from his church have also helped remodel Mrs. Eskew’s kitchen. Nehemiah’s Wall is a program at Jerry’s church that helps elderly people with renovations to their homes. Friends say that Jerry is always willing to help, no matter who you are.“His time is people’s time, “said Mrs. Eskew.
