Report: Food Lion Recalls Ground Beef Sold In Upstate

Food Lion grocery stores are recalling ground beef that was sold at eight of its stores in Spartanburg County. According to News Channel 7’s coverage partners at the ‘Herald Journal’, the beef has been linked to a multi-state outbreak of E.coli.
The recall involves 93% lean ground beef purchased at Food Lion or Bloom stores with a sell by date of September 21st to October 8th. Consumers can return it for a full refund.
So far no one has gotten sick in South Carolina, But the outbreak has sickened 26 people in 11 states. It’s blamed for 2 deaths. To read more on this story click here

I bought ground beef last week at food lion in inman ($.99/pound) I took out of pack and repackaged, therefore I don’t know if the info given applies to that package.

I couldn’t find any further info on the websites, do you know if it was regular packaged meat (strofoam container/shrink wrap or was it prepackaged?)
