Arrest Made in Deadly Shooting Outside N.C. Post Office

Rutherford County Sheriff Jack Conner tells News Channel 7 Friday morning there has been an arrest in a murder outside a post office from earlier this week.

No other details have been released.

Deputies have been searching for the person who opened fire on a man outside a post office in Caroleen on U.S. 221A around 8:30pm Tuesday night.

Deputies found Timothy White, 17, dead next to a car in the parking lot. White had been shot three times. Neighbors called authorities after hearing gunshots.

Investigators found shell casings at the scene. White would have turned 18 years old this month.
This is the first homicide in Rutherford County in nearly two years.
