Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four people early Wednesday for armed robbery after the suspects were spotted by a state worker.

A Department of Transportation employee spotted a 2009 KIA Spectra speeding away after a robbery was reported at the Lil’ Cricket Food Store at 7624 Valley Falls Road.

The state worker called 911 and followed the car until deputies stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of Calvary Church located at 203 Boundary Drive.

Three men and a teenage girl were arrested without incident according to SCSO Public Information Officer Tony Ivey

Investigators say two of the suspects were armed with guns when they robbed the store just after 1:00am. The four suspects left with money and cigarettes from the store.
