Greenville Deputies Search For “Dangerous” Burglar, Robber

Robert Christopher Clardy is charged with armed robbery, burglary first degree and grand larceny.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a man they say broke into a home and attacked the homeowner with a metal pipe.
Arrest warrants have been signed for Robert Christopher Clardy for the incident on Friday at a home on Hudson Road.
The homeowner tells officers a man was inside the home when he returned around 9:50am. A television had been placed in a silver Volkswagon that was parked in the driveway.
The homeowner says he took the keys to the suspect’s vehicle and went inside to confront him. Deputies say Clardy struck the victim with a metal pipe and ran out of the home.
Clardy is charged with armed robbery, burglary first degree and grand larceny. The GCSO says Clardy is believed to have broken into another home in the area after leaving the Hudson Road residence.
Investigators say he stole items from a home and took a black 2006 Toyota Rav-4 with North Carolina license tag WYV-1501.
