The S.C. Highway Patrol says no charges will be filed in an accident that sent a car through cable barriers on Interstate 26 and collided with a Duke Energy truck and other vehicles.
Troopers say the accident happened around 9:45pm Tuesday on I-26 near the Highway 29 exit. Cpl. Kathy Hiles, from the Highway Patrol, says a 1995 Honda was forced into the eastbound median by a tractor-trailer.
The car, driven by a Spartanburg woman, went through the barriers and hit the Duke Energy truck head on in the westbound lanes.
Other cars were involved in the accident, but no injuries were reported. Hiles says all drivers were wearing seat belts.
Hiles says no charges because the tractor trailer kept going and didn't stop. One lane on eastbound I-26 was closed for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
