CHESTER, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 2-year-old South Carolina girl has drowned after falling into a watering trough being used as a kiddie pool.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported that Sara Grace Hunter was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon at Chester Regional Medical Center.
Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker says the death was an accident.
Tinker says the toddler was playing outside her home in Chester with her 5-year-old sister and two young friends late Saturday morning.
The coroner says the girl fell into an 8-foot-round water trough that was used for both watering animals and as a makeshift kiddie pool. He says the water was just over a foot deep.
The girl’s mother found her.

This mother should have been watching her child.
This is so sad. Who was watching the two year old? A child that young certainly needed supervision being around any kind of pool or watering trough. Losing a child is a horrible experience but in such a way must only compound the hurt. My heart goes out to the family. May God hold you close at such a time as this.
