State troopers have arrested three people in connection with a bad hit and run accident, that nearly claimed the lives of two local teens earlier this month.  43 year old James Poole, 26 year old Tammy Harvey, and 22 year old William Brown were all arrested late Wednesday night.

Troopers say Poole was driving the truck that hit 15 year old Cody Brock, and his cousin Daniel Young, on September 5th.  The two boys were riding their moped along Highway 39 in Cross Hill, when they were hit from behind, and thrown off.  The truck left the scene.

Poole has been charged with leaving the scene of an acccident with great bodily injury, presenting false claims, and making false statements to police.  Harvey and Brown are both charged as accessories to the crime, and also with presenting false claims and making false statements to police.

All three suspects are being held at the Laurens County Detention Center.

Daniel Young is still in the hospital, in critical condition, with brain damage.

That is wonderful Brianna! And your right if everyone will be careful and watch where they are going it would help stop these things from happening. Everybody needs a way to get around and walking is not always the answer. My family has everyone in their prayers.I am so happy that he spoke to you. That is a real postive sign.

Ok we have no way of knowing if they were drinking, but i would hope that they had been. Like linda said its wrong what they did, but you have to forgive. The only thing that pisses me off is the first posters on here thats just rude to make fun of someone you don’t even know made me want to kick in some faces. I’m sure with the charm those 2 have they have numerous friends (referring to the first 2 posters). I had asked Channel 7 to take this discussion down, but i guess this draws attention for them. Just please keep praying for Daniel, Cody, and the 3 others. Daniel actually was able to speak to me today which is good. Just remember to keep your eyes out for pedestrians, bicyclists, and anyone on alternate modes of transportation, Or as some refer to them nusiances.

First of all I am no way related to either one of them and I have not seen them in about two years. If it was one of my children I would be locked up not them becuase god as my witness I would have ran over them. I am not defending them by no means. Pay attention to what you read before you comment on it!!I said earlier what they did was wrong and there is no excuse for it. I also said ( not defending them )that the people they were when I knew them were not like that. Don’t try to argue with me and get your head out of your butts!!

So if mopeds ain’t aloud out on the roads doesn’t that apply to motorcycles to? And i am pretty sure linda you are taking up for them because you are the sister of one.Let me ask you a question linda what if that was your son they hit and left on the side of the road to die how would you feel? would you still be taking these peoples side, they were drunk they hit 2 young boys left them to die, didn’t get out and check on them didn’t even have the guts to call for help, they didn’t care about anyone but themselves. It don’t matter if they where riding, walking ,crawling them 3 were cowards how could they live with themselves.Sick

Maybe you should read what you write, yet again. No, I don’t know any of those three, prehaps because I am more discriminationg in who I associate with.

Pay more attention to what you are reading. I am by no means defending them. What they done was wrong period. Do you or have you ever known either one of them ?

It’s hard to believe anyone would defend these people. The poster below said: “it was out of character for them to leave the scene”. No, wrong. That defines their character, of lack thereof. It’s how you behave when things go wrong that defines character. So these 3 have none. Simple as that. I hope they are thrown under the jail!

Nothing gave the three of them the right to right to do what they did!But like I said yesterday I know the two oldest ones and it was out of character for them to leave the scene. I hope that they both realize what they have done. And I hope and pray that the boy makes it. This situation makes you stop and think though. Our kids are not safe no matter how small a town we live in.You never know what is going to happen from day to day. God bless all and be very careful.
