Bear Sighting Prompts Search In Greenville

A bear sighting prompted a search along Roe Ford Road in Greenville County Thursday evening.
The Duncan Chapel Fire Department and Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an area at Roe Ford Road and Highway 25 after a woman says she spotted a bear near her residence. According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the bear was up a tree, but managed to elude capture and ran off in a wooded area.
Responders began to search the woods for the bear, but without success and they decided to call off the search.
