BMW Supplier Holds Job Fair In Greenville On Thursday
A job fair will be held in Greenville on Thursday, November 5 for employment opportunities at the Gestamp plant in Union.

Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Greenville, Marriott (1 Parkway East) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for the following positions:
Production Manager
CNC Operator
Tool & Die Repair
Controls Engineer
Tooling Engineer
Continuous Improvement Program Engineer
Cost Account
Quality Engineer.

Gestamp currently employs approximately 135 hourly and salary employees with plans to hire an estimated 40 additional employees over the next year in support of the new BMW X3 launch.

In early October, Gestamp Automocion, LLC, a Spanish owned global stamping company finalized the purchase of LSP Automotive Systems, LLC. The purchase agreement included the 395,000 square foot manufacturing plant located just north of Union and 15 miles south of Spartanburg on HWY 176. The plant which began operations in 2007 manufactures large class A precision body structure stampings and assemblies for BMW in Spartanburg, SC. With the addition of the Union South Carolina plant and the current construction of the Chattanooga, TN plant, Gestamp Automocion, North American Division will have eight operating plants in Alabama, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mexico.
