Chris Cato’s Turkey Calling Lesson

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

Just in time for Thanksgiving, 7-time South Carolina turkey calling champion Steve Cobb gave News Channel 7’s Chris Cato a lesson on how to talk turkey.

Cobb lives in Union. He has been competing in turkey calling competitions since he was 13 after learning the trade from his mentor, Billy O’Daniel of Carlisle.

Cobb is a staff pro for Hunter’s Specialities, which means he gets to field test cool new hunting gadgets and has even developed products for the company. Cobb recently appeared on an episode of “Turkey Call”, a hunting show which airs weekly on the Outdoor Channel.

Chris we love ya, but please don’t go in the woods dressed like Pee Wee Herman! And you wondered why you didn’t see any Turkeys.
