A Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputy rescued a woman who had been kidnapped by her ex-husband.

Oscar Bernard Haney, 44, has been charged with kidnapping from the incident Saturday afternoon in Roebuck. He was released from the Spartanburg County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

Deputies were called to a home on Evans Drive at 5:05pm Saturday on a disturbance call. Officers said they were told the victim was abducted from her home and taken to Haney’s residence on Outlook Drive in Boiling Springs.

The incident report says Haney grabbed the woman by the arm and forced her into his 2005 Ford Explorer.

The deputy rescued the victim at that home according to SCSO Public Information Officer Tony Ivey.

Haney was taken into custody at that location. Haney says the victim went to the residence in Boiling Springs voluntarily.
