Ex-NFL Player Facing Rape Charge in Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Former New England Patriots running back David Meggett faces another rape charge in South Carolina after being arrested and charged with raping a North Charleston woman.
Authorities say Meggett was arrested yesterday and charged with raping a 21-year-old woman in her North Charleston home.
Authorities say when he was arrested, Meggett was free on bail for charges of raping a 17-year-old in September in North Charleston. He was serving probation for a 2006 sexual battery charge in North Carolina.
Meggett lives in Summerville. He played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, New York Jets and New York Giants.
