Ex-Officer Apologizes for Relations With 14 Year Old

Columbus Dean Ken Kennett IV apologized for his relations last year with a 14-year-old Northwood Middle School student.  Kennett pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, the lesser charges of lewd act on a minor were dropped.  Kennett was sentenced to three years probation.  He will also have to go through counseling, register as a sex offender and give up his teaching license.  Kennett is a former Greenville city police oficer.  Kennett had worked at the school for two years, but he resigned as the district was investigating the concerns raised by the girl’s parents.

It’s officers like him that give good officers a bad name. Most of them are good but unfortunately the bad ones get the publicity. He wasn’t apologizing because he was sorry, only because he got caught.

I got news for you, PURPOSELY writing love letters, PURPOSELY kissing and fondling 14 yo girls, and PURPOSELY committing adultry are not “mistakes”!

so, why isn’t the man in prison?
