Coroner: SC Crash Victim IDs May Come Wednesday

    ST. MATTHEWS, S.C. (AP) - Officials say it could be Wednesday before the names are released of two people killed in a plane crash in South Carolina.
    Calhoun County Coroner Donnie Porth said Tuesday it didn’t appear he would be able to schedule autopsies until Wednesday.
    The single-engine biplane came down about 7:15 p.m. Monday in some woods near the Fort Motte community.
    Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane, a Starduster, caught fire and was destroyed.
    No other details were immediately available.
    FAA records show the plane was registered to Aeroscene Inc. of Wilmington, Del.

    Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Monday night that the plane went down around 7:15 p.m. near St. Matthews, which is in Calhoun County.
    Bergen said the aircraft, which was identified as a Starduster, caught fire and was destroyed.
    No other details were immediately available.
    The identities of the victims, who were reported to be the only people onboard the aircraft, were not known late Monday night.
    FAA records show the plane was registered to Aeroscene Inc. of Wilmington, Del.
