Facebook Chat Leads To Sex Charge

A Lexington County man faces a charge of criminal solicitation of a minor.

Spartanburg County investigators say 19-year old Richard Henry Blume, III,  was chatting with a 15-year old girl from Spartanburg County using Facebook instant messaging. They say Blume asked the girl to perform sex acts. Investigators say the communication occurred from March 2008 through June 2008.

They say the Blume and the victim met in North Myrtle Beach where the teen was on vacation in June. Authorties say the victim reported engaging in sexual activity with Blume in his vehicle.

Blume remains behind bars in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
