Finalist Announced For Miss Teen South Carolina

The Miss Teen South Carolina pageant is down to 11 contestants.

In front of a packed crowd at the Spartanburg memorial Auditorium, the Top 10 finalists were announced and a People’s Choice candidate was awarded before they compete for the top crown tonight. The Top 10 includes four young women from the upstate. Of the 41 competitors, Miss Spartanburg Teen Lanie Hudson, Miss Tyger River Teen Erin Frost, Miss Powdersville Teen Courtney Cisson and Miss Upstate Teen Taylor Fitch all made the finals, which will conclude tonight.

The Top 10 contestants are 14-year old Miss Charleston Teen, Chelsea Bullock, Miss Columbia Teen Lauren Cabaniss, 17, Miss Darlington Teen Anna Mills Polatty, 15, Miss Hartsville Teen Brittany Caldwell, 16, Miss Lancaster Teen Sallie Pierce and Miss Southern Teen Callie Davis, 17.

The People’s Choice Contestant is Miss Newberry County Teen Rachel Aube. Aube, from Chapin, raised the most money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Tonight, at the beginning of the Miss South Carolina Pageant finale at 8 p.m., the Top Five Teen contestants and the new Miss South Carolina Teen will be announced. Miss South Carolina will be crowned at the end of the finale this evening.

The new Miss South Carolina Teen wins a $5,000 savings bond and other miscellaneous prizes. She competes nationally at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageant in Orlando, FL, Aug. 12-16, 2008. (The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageant falls under the aegis of the Miss America Organization.)
