Free McDonald’s Breakfast For Local Teachers

» 3 Comments | Post a Comment

McDonald’s is offering free breakfast for local teachers August 26.  Restaurants throughout Upstate South Carolina, Western North Carolina, and parts of Georgia will be serving free breakfast to all school employees Wednesday, August 26 from 6:30 - 10:30 a.m.
“This small gesture is our way of saying ‘thanks’ to educators for giving our children and communities their best everyday,” said Julia Skipper, a McDonald’s owner/operator in Laurens. “We want to wish teachers good luck as they begin another school year.”
The fast food chain will serve a free breakfast sandwich and one small coffee to all educators who show a valid school ID.

Idiot!! Who do you think taught those doctors, firefighters, and police. I’m not a teacher and I figured that out.

Some hostility today. Mcdonald’s is not my first choice either but what is wrong with doing something nice for teachers. Yes there are other professions who should get the same recognition. Teachers have one of the hardest jobs to do. Some teachers don’t get paid enough and some have to pay for class materials out of their own pocket, so anything nice for teachers I am all for.  They are under pressure from many different angle be-it kids, parents, administators, or these lousy state and federal tests that are given to students. Granted not all teachers are good but you can’t let a few bad apples ruin the whole barrel. There are people like that in any profession.

Most people will view this as “oh, how nice” and McDonalds will probably get a lot of business due to this little ploy. To me, it’s just another way that the general public places teachers and school administrators above other professions. How about their doctors? their firefighters? their police officers? ministers, etc? To single these few out as “special” is just plain wrong and next time I want fast food I will drive on to Hardees.
