Due to the economy there is a talented pool of unemployed workers out there and if you are looking for a job, you know how tough it is to separate yourself from the others.

Some Greenville County high school students are now coming out of high school certified for some recession proof jobs and that’s before they even head off to college.

Golden Strip Career Center and Bon Secours St. Francis Health System have teamed up to offer a program that enables students to get certified as nursing assistants and pharmacy technicians.

The program is advanced in that for the first time in a Greenville County hospital, high school students shadow professionals as part of the curriculum, which gives them a head start for their future.

Officials with St. Francis say this is the first of many classes like this.

To get involved, high school students should contact their guidance counselors.
