Greenville Police: Beware of Medicare Scam

The Greenville Police Department is warning people about a scam involving medicare patients. Several victims have contacted police after getting phone calls from someone who identifies as a “Medicare Representative.“ The caller asks for personal information in order to update and mail out new Medicare cards. That information includes social security numbers and checking account numbers.
Greenville Police contacted the Office of the Inspector General to report these cases.
They are also warning residents to never give out personal information over the phone.
