Henderson County Lowers Flags For Fallen Marine

January 14, 2009 – Henderson County, NC: The Henderson County Manager has ordered all county offices to lower all flags to half staff from Noon Wednesday, January 14, 2009 until dawn on Monday, January 19, 2009 in memory of Lance Cpl. Jessie Cassada of Hendersonville.
Cassada died in combat on Tuesday, Jan. 6, while serving in Afghanistan. He was 19. Media reports say the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mud Creek Baptist Church, and military honors will be carried out at Forest Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
