Honea Path Police Chief David King says Phillip McGaha has been arrested following following a chase from Abbeville County into Anderson County on Sunday.

McGaha was arrested after law officers from the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office, the State Law Enforcement Division and the Department of Naturdal Resources were conducting a stakeout on Hook Road.

That’s located near off Highway 20 in Abbeville County. Officers say they spotted McGaha as a passenger in a car and they chased the vehicle into Anderson County. The pursuit ended with McGaha’s arrest near Emerson Bridge Road.

King says McGaha was wanted for burglary and safe cracking of the First Assembly of God church in Honea Path. The Honea Path Police Department was assisted by Abbeville and Anderson Sheriffs Deputies and SLED in the search for McGaha.

King says McGaha will have bond hearings by both Anderson and Abbeville County magistrates.
