A thief uses a truck to ram into building to get to the money inside, but he gets caught when he stops for breakfast.

Deputies say a man used a truck to smash through two businesses and haul off an entire ATM.

The cash machine was stolen early this morning from the Corner Stop Store on Carolina Country Club Road in Roebuck. Deputies say they caught the suspect trying to use the stolen cash at a nearby Waffle House.

The burglar left a lot of damage at the Corner Stop, including a big gaping hole in the front. Deputies say a Woodruff man used a stolen truck to crash his way in. He apparently hooked up a chain to the ATM inside and drove off with it.

The Sheriff’s Office says this wasn’t the man’s first stop. They say he also smashed through the door of another store down the road and tried to rip the ATM out of that building, but only tore the top off the machine.

Deputies caught up with the suspect at the Waffle House on Highway 221 in Roebuck where he had apparently stopped for breakfast. They say he still had the stolen ATM in his truck.

42-year old Tony Dale Dickard of Woodruff is charged with grand larceny, burglary, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Had he went just a few more miles up Hwy 221, he could have gotten a FREE meal at the Soup Kitchen, but Sheriff Wright has a Bologna and cheese sandwich waiting for him at the County Jail…...I swear, if it ain’t the crooked business owners driving up prices of things, it’s the criminals…us straight up, hard working people can’t get a fair shake!
