A Belton man was killed Thursday evening when his motorcycle collided with car traveling in the wrong lane at 503 Broadway Lake Road.  The accident happened about 5pm.

Travis McCoy, 24, of Mize Rd. in Belton, was killed in the accident.  McCoy was driving his 1999 Suzuki motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle headed the other way, in the wrong lane of the two-lane road, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.

The driver and two passengers fled the scene immediately after the wreck. Search dogs were brought out to search the area, but found no one.  The road was closed for several hours after the accident.

An autopsy will be conducted Friday morning.
